USAGE NOTES

This premium driver from the professional audio world works very well in the MBM-18 cabinet. Two drivers produce upwards of 127dB from 30Hz up and upwards of 130dB at 70Hz.  If you are looking for a clean, impactful, music bass driver, this is an excellent choice.

The driver's high efficiency and high resonant frequency allow it to achieve this enormous output with only about 10% as much real power at 70Hz as the UM-18 (one of our favorite home theater drivers).  The result is less power compression, less distortion, and a much 'punchier' mid-bass.

Two channel enthusiasts looking for a subwoofer will find the LaVoce SAF184.03 produces exceptionally linear bass.  Good inductance control keeps distortion to a minimum allowing each note of the music to be represented with accuracy and definition.

Four SAF184.03 drivers could be used in Marty-Cubes or Mini-Marty cabinets to provide full range Reference Level output for movies and exceptional mid-bass for music all in one package.  The largest theaters and/or systems targeting the most extreme levels of output may want to step up to six or eight units.  Six drivers in Mini-Marty cabinets would produce upwards of 130dB down to 16Hz before room gain.

The SAF184.03 offers most of the advantages of the TBW100 at a lower pricepoint.  Our subjective music testing reveals a driver that is clean and powerful just like the TBW100.  The advantage of the SAF184.03 is that it comes at a lower cost.  On the other hand, it is only available in 8 ohms, which means that it will have reduced maximum output in some amplifier configurations.

Like the TBW, the SAF184.03 is not the lowest cost driver, but it does provide benefits that in the right application make it more than worth the price, which is why we are proud to offer it to you.
